ומלך יהושפט בריה בתריה ואתקף על דבית ישראל:
yshral dbyth el wathqp bthryh bryh yhwshpT wmlk
Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place, and strengthened himself against Israel.

ומני חילון בכל קרוי יהודה כריכן ומני אסטרטיגין בארעא שבטא דבית יהודה ובקרוי אפרים די כבש אסא אבוהי:
abwhy asa kbsh dy aprym wbqrwy yhwdh dbyth shbTa barea asTrTygyn wmny krykn yhwdh qrwy bkl khylwn wmny
He placed forces in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.

והוה מימרא דיי בסעדיה דיהושפט ארום הליך בארחתיה דדוד אבוי קדמאי ולא תבע אולפן מן טעותא:
Tewtha mn awlpn thbe wla qdmay abwy ddwd barkhthyh hlyk arwm dyhwshpT bsedyh dyy mymra whwh
Yahweh was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and didn’t seek the Baals,

מטול די לאלהא דאבוהי תבע ובפקודוי הליך ולא כעובדין בישין דבית ישראל:
yshral dbyth byshyn kewbdyn wla hlyk wbpqwdwy thbe dabwhy lalha dy mTwl
but sought the God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not in the ways of Israel.

ואתקין יי ית מלכותא בידיה ויהבו כל דבית יהודה דורון ליהושפט והוה ליה עותרא ונכסין ויקר לסוגי:
lswgy wyqr wnksyn ewthra lyh whwh lyhwshpT dwrwn yhwdh dbyth kl wyhbw bydyh mlkwtha yth yy wathqyn
Therefore Yahweh established the kingdom in his hand. All Judah brought tribute to Jehoshaphat, and he had riches and honor in abundance.

וראים לביה להלכא בארחן דתקנן קדם יי ותוב עטר ית במתיא וית אשריא מדבית יהודה:
yhwdh mdbyth ashrya wyth bmthya yth eTr wthwb yy qdm dthqnn barkhn lhlka lbyh wraym
His heart was lifted up in the ways of Yahweh. Furthermore, he took away the high places and the Asherah poles out of Judah.

ובשתא תליתאה למלכותיה שדר לרברבנוי לבן חיל ולעובדיה ולזכריה ולנתנאל ולמיכיהו לאלפא דחלתא דיי בקרוי יהודה:
yhwdh bqrwy dyy dkhltha lalpa wlmykyhw wlnthnal wlzkryh wlewbdyh khyl lbn lrbrbnwy shdr lmlkwthyh thlythah wbshtha
Also in the third year of his reign he sent his princes, even Ben Hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;

ועמהון ליואי שמעיה ונתניה וזכריה ועשהאל ושמירמות ויהונתן ואדוניהו וטוביה וטוב אדוניה ליואי ועמהון אלישמע ויהורם כהניא:
khnya wyhwrm alyshme wemhwn lyway adwnyh wTwb wTwbyh wadwnyhw wyhwnthn wshmyrmwth weshhal wzkryh wnthnyh shmeyh lyway wemhwn
and with them Levites, even Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.

ואליפו בדבית יהודה ועמהון ספר אוריתא דיי ואסחרו בכל קרוי יהודה ואליפו בעמא:
bema walypw yhwdh qrwy bkl waskhrw dyy awrytha spr wemhwn yhwdh bdbyth walypw
They taught in Judah, having the book of Yahweh’s law with them. They went about throughout all the cities of Judah and taught among the people.

והוה דחילא דיי על כלהון מלכות ארעתא דחזרנות יהודה ולא אגיחו קרבא עם יהושפט:
yhwshpT em qrba agykhw wla yhwdh dkhzrnwth aretha mlkwth klhwn el dyy dkhyla whwh
The fear of Yahweh fell on all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.

ומן פלשתאי מיתין דורון ליהושפט וסימא ודהבא תקרובתא אוף ערבאי מיתין ליה עאן דכרין שבעת אלפין ושבע מאה ותישיא שבעת אלפין ושבע מאה:
mah wshbe alpyn shbeth wthyshya mah wshbe alpyn shbeth dkryn ean lyh mythyn erbay awp thqrwbtha wdhba wsyma lyhwshpT dwrwn mythyn plshthay wmn
Some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents and silver for tribute. The Arabians also brought him flocks: seven thousand seven hundred rams and seven thousand seven hundred male goats.

והוה יהושפט אזיל ורבי עד לעלא ובנא ביהודה ברניתא וקרוי בית אוצרין:
awtsryn byth wqrwy brnytha byhwdh wbna lela ed wrby azyl yhwshpT whwh
Jehoshaphat grew great exceedingly; and he built fortresses and store cities in Judah.

ופולחנא סגיעא הות ליה בקרוי יהודה וגברי עבדי קרבא בירושלם :
byrwshlm qrba ebdy wgbry yhwdh bqrwy lyh hwth sgyea wpwlkhna
He had many works in the cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valor, in Jerusalem.

ואלין מניניהון לבית אבהתהון לשבטא דיהודה רבני אלפין עדנא רבא ועמיה גברי חילא תלת מאה אלפין:
alpyn mah thlth khyla gbry wemyh rba edna alpyn rbny dyhwdh lshbTa abhthhwn lbyth mnynyhwn walyn
This was the numbering of them according to their fathers’ houses: From Judah, the captains of thousands: Adnah the captain, and with him three hundred thousand mighty men of valor;

ודשרי סמיך עלוי יהוחנן רבא ועמיה מאתן ותמניא אלפין:
alpyn wthmnya mathn wemyh rba yhwkhnn elwy smyk wdshry
and next to him Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred eighty thousand;

ודשרי סמיך עלוי עמסיה בר זכרי דמתנדב ליי ועמיה מאתן אלפין גברי חילא:
khyla gbry alpyn mathn wemyh lyy dmthndb zkry br emsyh elwy smyk wdshry
and next to him Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself to Yahweh, and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valor.

ומן שבטא דבנימין גברי חילא אלידע ועמיה נגדי קשתא ואחדי תריסין מאתן אלפין:
alpyn mathn thrysyn wakhdy qshtha ngdy wemyh alyde khyla gbry dbnymyn shbTa wmn
From Benjamin: Eliada, a mighty man of valor, and with him two hundred thousand armed with bow and shield;

ודשרי סמיך עלוי יהוזבד ועמיה מאה ותמנין אלפין מזרזי חילא:
khyla mzrzy alpyn wthmnyn mah wemyh yhwzbd elwy smyk wdshry
and next to him Jehozabad, and with him one hundred eighty thousand ready and prepared for war.
