ܘܩܡ ܒܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܝܗܘܫܦܛ ܒܪܗ ܒܬܪܗ ܘܐܬܥܫܢ ܥܠ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ
'ysryl el w'theshn bthrh brh yhwshpT bmlkwth' wqm
Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place, and strengthened himself against Israel.

ܘܐܫܠܛ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܓܢܒܪ̈ܝ ܚܝܠܐ ܒܟܠܗܝܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܒܝܬ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܥܫܝ̈ܢܬܐ ܘܐܩܝܡ ܫܠܝ̈ܛܐ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܐܦܪܝܡ ܕܐܚܕ ܐܣܐ ܐܒܘܗܝ
'bwhy 's' d'khd d'prym wb're' dyhwd' b're' shlyT' w'qym eshynth' yhwd' dbyth qwry' bklhyn khyl' gnbry gbr' w'shlT
He placed forces in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.

ܘܗܘܐ ܡܪܝܐ ܥܡ ܝܗܘܫܦܛ ܡܛܠ ܕܗܠܟ ܒܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܗ ܕܕܘܝܕ ܐܒܘܗܝ ܩܕܡܝ̈ܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܨܠܝ ܠܨܠܡ̈ܐ

Yahweh was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and didn’t seek the Baals,

ܡܛܠ ܕܠܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܒܘܗܝ ܨܠܝ ܘܒܦܘܩܕ̈ܢܘܗܝ ܗܠܟ ܘܢܡܘܣ̈ܘܗܝ ܢܛܪ ܘܠܐ ܥܒܕ ܐܝܟ ܥ̇ܒ̈ܕܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
d'ysryl ebd' 'yk ebd wl' nTr wnmwswhy hlk wbpwqdnwhy tsly d'bwhy 'lh' dlmry' mTl
but sought the God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not in the ways of Israel.

ܘܐܬܩܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܠܟܘܬܐ ܒܐܝܕܗ ܘܝܗܒܘ ܠܗ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܕܒܝܬ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܩܘܪ̈ܒܢܐ ܠܝܗܘܫܦܛ ܘܗܘܐ ܠܗ ܥܘܬܪܐ ܘܐܝܩܪܐ ܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܛܒ
dTb swg'' w'yqr' ewthr' lh whw' lyhwshpT qwrbn' yhwd' dbyth klhwn lh wyhbw b'ydh mlkwth' mry' w'thqn
Therefore Yahweh established the kingdom in his hand. All Judah brought tribute to Jehoshaphat, and he had riches and honor in abundance.

ܘܐܬܚܝܠ ܠܒܗ ܒܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܬܘܒ ܥܩܪ ܡܕܒ̈ܚܐ ܘܥܠܘ̈ܬܐ ܕܗܘܘ ܒܬܚܘܡܐ ܕܒܝܬ ܝܗܘܕܐ
yhwd' dbyth bthkhwm' dhww welwth' mdbkh' eqr wthwb dmry' b'wrkhthh lbh w'thkhyl
His heart was lifted up in the ways of Yahweh. Furthermore, he took away the high places and the Asherah poles out of Judah.

ܘܒܫܢܬ ܬܠܬ ܠܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܫܕܪ ܩܪܐ ܠܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܘܗܝ ܘܠܪ̈ܒܝ ܚܝܠܐ ܠܥܘܒܕܝܐ ܘܠܙܟܪܝܐ ܘܠܡܬܢܐܝܠ ܘܠܡܠܟܝܐ ܠܡܠܦܘ ܒܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ
dyhwd' bqwry' lmlpw wlmlky' wlmthn'yl wlzkry' lewbdy' khyl' wlrby lrwrbnwhy qr' shdr lmlkwthh thlth wbshnth
Also in the third year of his reign he sent his princes, even Ben Hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;

ܘܥܡܗܘܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܘ̈ܝܐ ܫܡܥܝܐ ܡܬܢܝܐ ܙܟܪܝܐ ܥܫܐܝܠ ܢܛܘܪܐ ܝܘܢܬܢ ܐܕܘܢܝܐ ܛܘܒܝܐ ܗܠܝܢ ܟܘܠܗܘܢ ܠܘ̈ܝܐ ܘܥܡܗܘܢ ܗܘܐ ܐܠܝܫܡܥ ܘܝܗܘܪܡ ܟܗ̈ܢܐ
khn' wyhwrm 'lyshme hw' wemhwn lwy' kwlhwn hlyn Twby' 'dwny' ywnthn nTwr' esh'yl zkry' mthny' shmey' lwy' hww wemhwn
and with them Levites, even Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.

ܘܡܠܦܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܟܠܗ̇ ܘܥܡܗܘܢ ܗܘܐ ܣ̣ܦܪܐ ܕܢܡܘܣܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܘܡܬܟܪܟܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܒܟܠܗܝܢ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܡܠܦܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܥܡܐ

They taught in Judah, having the book of Yahweh’s law with them. They went about throughout all the cities of Judah and taught among the people.

ܘܗܘܬ ܕܚܠܬܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܥܠ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܡܠܟܘ̈ܬܐ ܕܡܕܝ̈ܢܬܐ ܕܗܘ̈ܝ ܚܕܪ̈ܝ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܬܟܬܫܘ ܥܡ ܝܗܘܫܦܛ

The fear of Yahweh fell on all the kingdoms of the lands that were around Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.

ܘܡܢ ܡܕܝ̈ܢܬܐ ܕܦܠܫ̈ܬܝܐ ܡܝܬܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܝܗܘܫܦܛ ܟܣܦܐ ܘܩܘܪ̈ܒܢܐ ܘܟܣܦ ܪܫܐ ܘܐܦ ܥܪ̈ܒܝܐ ܡܝܬܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܥ̈ܢܐ ܕܟܪ̈ܐ ܫܒܥܐ ܐܠܦܝ̈ܢ ܘܫܒܥܡܐܐ ܘܬܝ̈ܫܐ ܫܒܥܐ ܐܠܦܝ̈ܢ ܘܫܒܥܡܐܐ ܒܫܢܬܐ ܚܕܐ

Some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents and silver for tribute. The Arabians also brought him flocks: seven thousand seven hundred rams and seven thousand seven hundred male goats.

ܘܗܘܐ ܝܗܘܫܦܛ ܐ̇ܙܠ ܘܥ̇ܬܪ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܥܬܪ ܛܒ ܘܒܢܐ ܒܝܗܘܕܐ ܒܝܪ̈ܬܐ ܘܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܩܦܣ̈ܐ

Jehoshaphat grew great exceedingly; and he built fortresses and store cities in Judah.

ܘܥܒܝܕܬܐ ܪܒܬܐ ܗܘܬ ܠܗ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܕܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܩܪ̈ܒܬܢܐ ܓܢܒܪ̈ܝ ܚܝܠܐ ܒܐܘܪܫܠܡ
b'wrshlm khyl' gnbry qrbthn' wgbr' dyhwd' b're' lh hwth rbth' webydth'
He had many works in the cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valor, in Jerusalem.

ܘܗܢܐ ܡܢܝܢܗܘܢ ܠܒܝܬ ܐܒܗ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܕܒܝܬ ܝܗܘܕܐ ܘܪ̈ܘܪܒܢܐ ܕܐ̈ܠܦܐ ܓܕܝܢܘ ܓܢܒܪܐ ܘܠܗ ܡܫܡܫܝܢ ܓܢܒܪ̈ܝ ܚܝܠܐ ܬܠܬܡܐܐ ܐܠܦܝ̈ܢ
'lpyn thlthm'' khyl' gnbry mshmshyn wlh gnbr' gdynw d'lp' wrwrbn' yhwd' dbyth 'bhyhwn lbyth mnynhwn whn'
This was the numbering of them according to their fathers’ houses: From Judah, the captains of thousands: Adnah the captain, and with him three hundred thousand mighty men of valor;

ܘܝܘܚܢܢ ܪܒܐ ܘܠܗ ܡܫܡܫܝܢ ܓܢܒܪ̈ܝ ܚܝܠܐ ܡܐܬܝܢ ܘܬܡܢܐܝܢ ܐܠܦܝ̈ܢ
'lpyn wthmn'yn m'thyn khyl' gnbry mshmshyn wlh rb' wywkhnn
and next to him Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred eighty thousand;

ܘܡܢ ܒܬܪܗ ܫܡܥܝ ܒܪ ܙܪܚ ܕܫܦܪ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܘܥܡܗ ܡܐܬܝܢ ܐܠܦܝ̈ܢ ܚܝ̈ܠܬܢܐ ܕܚܝܠܐ
dkhyl' khylthn' 'lpyn m'thyn wemh lmry' dshpr zrkh br shmey bthrh wmn
and next to him Amasiah the son of Zichri, who willingly offered himself to Yahweh, and with him two hundred thousand mighty men of valor.

ܘܡܢ ܕܒܝܬ ܒܢܝܡܝܢ ܓܢܒܪ̈ܝ ܚܝܠܐ ܐܠܝܕܥ ܫܡܗ ܘܠܗ ܡܫܡܫܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܓܒܪ̈ܐ ܫܕ̈ܝܝ ܒܩܫܬܐ ܘܐܚܝ̈ܕܝ ܣܟܪ̈ܐ ܡܐܬܝܢ ܐܠܦܝ̈ܢ
'lpyn m'thyn skr' w'khydy bqshth' shdyy gbr' hww mshmshyn wlh shmh 'lyde khyl' gnbry bnymyn dbyth wmn
From Benjamin: Eliada, a mighty man of valor, and with him two hundred thousand armed with bow and shield;

ܘܝܗܘܙܒܪ ܓܢܒܪܐ ܘܠܗ ܡܫܡܫܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܡܐܐ ܘܬܡܢܐܝܢ ܐܠܦܝ̈ܢ ܥ̇ܒܕ̈ܝ ܩܪܒܐ

and next to him Jehozabad, and with him one hundred eighty thousand ready and prepared for war.
